In this video, Charles the Humble Mechanic shows how to replace the G28 engine speed sensor. This sensor is situated near the transmission's edge over the flywheel gear. It transmits a signal to the ECU via an uncolored wire T55/49, then to the tachometer located on the instrument cluster.

The grey wire is located on the edge of transmission, directly above the flywheel ring. The sensor sends signals through the grey wire to pin T55/49. The ECU then uses this information to control the flow of fuel, timig and boost. It also sends an indication to the G5 tachometer in the instrument cluster.

The sensor is used as a reference to correlate with the G40 Camshaft Position Sensor. The ecu must be aware of when the crankshaft has reached TDC, and the location of the camshaft to trigger the spark and injectors.

If this sensor fails when it fails, the ECU will display a P00160 error message. This means that the Crank Shaft is not in sync with the Intake Camshaft. It could also indicate a chain stretch or a jumped chain link in the upper timing chain. The code won't show without the additional information supplied by other sensors (G4 or G40).

Testing is a bit tricky since there are two connector pins, and they serve different purposes but the best method to test it is to measure the resistance between the sensor and the ECU. When the sensor is fully operational, it should read about 1000 ohms. Examine for signs of coolant, or oil in the connector bay if you have issues with this component.

2. Injectors

Yesterday, audi q7 replacement key Car key replacement cost [https://images.google.td/] when accelerating from highway paytoll at a high speed I noticed a massive decrease in power. It was like the engine had run out of gas. Or, my injectors were not firing. This morning i pull out the spark plugs, 3 were soaked with gazoline and the 4th one was dry. When I start the engine with no sparks i put tissue on top of each injector hole and the 3 drenched with gazoline leap out, however the 4th stay shut. I tested the ground connection on ECU pins 14/55,30/55 and 48/55 I got zero ohm. I'm assuming the issue is somewhere else.

I also tried to reset the PID but with no luck. The car can start if the G28 is unplugged and is running fine when it is connected but it still is experiencing intermittent misfires at higher RPM. The coolant sensor (G62), even if it is not plugged in, shows a temperature of -49c. I also noticed that the oil gauge in the cockpit shows 2 bar while the actual pressure is 0.

I don't know what to do. I think I've eliminated everything else. I'm afraid i may have missed something. Let me know should you have any suggestions! TIA!

3. Fuel Pump

The fuel pump in the g28 receives signals from the RPM sensor. The GM-style sensor is the same as the G4 and both are used in the 80 100 200, UrS and RS2 cars which is why you can easily locate one at a salvage yard or in a local parts store. It is easy to test them - just switch your DMM into resistance mode and measure the distance between pins 1 and 2 (with the bump on the connector's edge facing up). They must be infinite Ohms.

4. ECU

The ECU in our 20vt turbo (3B AAN ABY) engines must know the position and speed of the crankshaft in order to make a decision about timing of fuel injectors, etc. In order to do this it utilizes a Crank Position Sensor (G4) and an Engine Speed Sensor (G28). If you encounter a problem with either of these sensors, the diagnostic scanner will show codes that could cause the engine shutting down.

A damaged G28 sensor could cause an inaccurate gearbox speed counter and a gearbox which shifts faster than normal, and/or a misfire in the gear. It is probable that the sensor is failing and requires to be replaced if you experience any of these signs. They are cheap and easy-to-find particularly when they're a Bosch unit like ours. Alternatively, GM's version of this component is a good option.

5. Tachometer

A damaged engine sensor could cause a variety of issues in your vehicle. It's a crucial component of the transmission of your audi a4 key replacement since it sends information to the ECU on how fast or slow the engine is turning. If the sensor fails, it can disrupt the performance of the transmission as well as the rest of the car's components.

The G5 engine speed sensor is situated on the outside of the transmission just above the flywheel ring gear. It sends a signal directly to the ECU at pin T55/49, via a grey wire. The ECU then processes this signal to regulate fuel, timig, and boost as well as transmitting it to the G5 tachometer inside the instrument cluster. You can determine if the sensor is in failure by examining the continuity of the sensor to the tachometer. You can also check continuity between pin T55/49 of the ECU and pin T6a/1 of the instrument cluster (trace [79]) and between pin T6a/1 as well as pin T26a/12. You should detect a resistance of approximately 1000 ohms between these two points. This is a standard part across the audi replacement key cost uk 80 100 200, UrS and RS2 range from 1985 MC to the 1997 UrS AAN and 1995 RS2 ADU so good ones might be availble in wrecking yards.
